Established in 1913, Bakersfield College is one of the nation's oldest continually operating community colleges. The college serves 33,000 students annually on the 153-acre main campus in northeast Bakersfield, at the Delano Campus 35 miles north of Bakersfield, the Weill Institute in downtown Bakersfield, and BC SouthWest in southwest Bakersfield.

Veterans

Community college helps returning veterans make a smooth and affordable transition from military service into the highly competitive job market. Military service may even qualify you to earn credit for prior learning.

Foster Youth

Every community college campus has a foster youth liaison to help support students throughout their educational journey. And, with the NextUp program, the colleges also offer eligible current and former foster youth support and services that could include help with books, transportation, tutoring, housing and more.
